Walmart To Launch Holiday Deals By Late October

The program dubbed “Early Deals Drop” will be available via its online stores, which will switch to Christmas décor and theme following Halloween, which drops on a Thursday for 2019.

Walmart US Chief Merchandising Officer Steve Bratspies says that it’s the company’s earliest start to date, noting that the shopping season has shrunk during a call with the media.

Market reports say that 2019 will have six less days for shopping, and Walmart isn’t the only one looking to make the most of it, as Target Corp. is also making a move.

Bratspies said in a statement that, for Walmart, saving their customers time is key for the time of year, especially now when big family meals, holiday parties, and giving gifts have less prep time before they roll around.

Target CEO Brian Cornell says that every day matters for companies in retail.
